Biography

Alberto Gieco (1952) is an audiovisual filmmaker and theater artist born in Santa Clara de Buena Vista, Santa Fe province. In 1980s São Paulo, he directed the cult film *Punks*, which portrays the punk subculture on the city's outskirts. He has worked as a continuity supervisor and assistant director on more than 30 feature films. Between 2008 and 2013, he was a member of the artist collective Circo de Poesía in Los Angeles. Additionally, he has taught film and literature at Los Angeles institutions such as the University of California, Occidental College, and Cortines Visual and Performing Arts. In 2025, he premiered *El infierno de los vivos*, his first feature film as a director.
